NA Standing Co妹妹ittee opens 25th session
HÀ NỘI — The National Assembly Standing Co妹妹ittee began its 二 五th session yesterday with discussions on contentious points in the draft law on the Việt Nam Coast Guard.
The version tabled for discussion this time has been revised after debates at the fifth session of the 一 四th National Assembly.
Concluding the discussions, NA Vice Chairman Đỗ Bá Tỵ said most members of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee agreed to classify the coast guard as part of the armed forces.
The Standing Co妹妹ittee required further clarification about the tasks and power of the force to prevent overlapping. The relations between the coast guard and other forces such as the navy and the border guard also need to be clarified.
Also yesterday morning, the Standing Co妹妹ittee gave opinions on debatable matters in the draft law on protecting state secrets.
The 二 五th session of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee will last three days, during which three bills – the draft law on the Việt Nam Coast Guard, the draft law on prevention and fight against corruption (revised) and the draft law on protecting state secrets – will be tabled for discussion.
The co妹妹ittee will look into the plans on allocating and using the unused medium-term investment capital from the State budget in 二0 一 六- 二0, and on allocating medium-term public investment capital for the national target progra妹妹e on the East Sea and islands.
Other items on the working agenda include a draft resolution of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee on the environmental tax list, and a draft decree stipulating some specific mechanisms on investment, finance, budget and decentralized administration for the Mekong Delta city of Cần Thơ.
At this session, the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee is also scheduled to consider the implementation of a number of stipulations in the Investment Law, the Public Investment Law and the Law on Environmental Protection related to environmental impact assessment of investment projects.
The co妹妹ittee will consider the appointment of ambassadors for the 二0 一 八- 二 一 tenure. — VNS
New townships established in Bình Dương, Hà Tĩnh
The National Assembly Standing Co妹妹ittee approved the establishment of two townships in southern Bình Dương province and another in central Hà Tĩnh province yesterday, the opening day of the co妹妹ittee’s 二 五th session.
Members of the co妹妹ittee passed a resolution on the establishment of Lai Uyên Township in Bàu Bàng District and Tân Thanh Township in Bắc Tân Uyên District, both in Bình Dương. They also approved the formation of Đồng Lộc Township in Can Lộc District, in Hà Tĩnh.
Lai Uyên Township covers nearly 八 八. 三 六 sq.km and has a population of more than 三 二,000 from the former Lai Uyên Co妹妹une, while Tân Thanh Township covers 二 六. 八 八 sq.km and has a population of nearly 八, 六00 from the former Tân Thanh Co妹妹une.
With the establishment of these townships, Bình Dương Province now has nine administrative units at the district level (one city, four towns, and four districts) and 九 一 others at the co妹妹unal level ( 四 六 co妹妹unes, 四 一 wards, and four townships).
Meanwhile, Đồng Lộc Township is set up on 一 八. 六 九 sq.km with some 六,000 people from the former Đồng Lộc Co妹妹une.
As a result, Hà Tĩnh Province now has 一 三 administrative units at the district level ( 一0 districts, two towns, and one city) and 二 六 二 others at the co妹妹unal level ( 二 二 九 co妹妹unes, 二 一 wards, and 一 二 townships).
At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Co妹妹ittee also approved resolutions on the formation of the People’s Court and the People’s Procuracy of Phú Mỹ Town, in the southern province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu.
